Hello, my name is Madison, and welcome to my website! I am a professionally trained interior designer, but have recently started to follow my true passion for carefully crafted art pieces that capture the beauty in the world around me.
Growing up in Portland, Oregon, I have always been surrounded by beauty and art. I remember walking downtown as a child with my mother and sisters, taking in all of the beautiful architecture and the intersection of the manmade and natural environment, which is a wonderful mix of my two favorite aesthetic inspirations.
Architecture is amazing to me in its simple intricacy; what I mean by that is, at first glance a building may appear simple, as many are designed to appear, but the closer you look, the more and more intricacies reveal themselves to you, in a way that is unbelievably beautiful.
Nature itself has much the same effect on me. Looking at a flower or a leaf, you may think that it is beautiful, and you may even notice some of the interconnected shapes within it, but look closer and you will see that each piece of the structure of the flower or leaf has its own structure, with its own texture and behavior, each with their own structure, texture, color and behavior. All of this complexity culminates in a simple beauty, which is where I draw the inspiration for my art.
